Headquarters, a techno disco club in Singapore has opened for the first time since March.

Tis club opened for the first time in May 2016 in Boat Quay. This club is the perfect one for those who wants to discover underground sounds.

The venue is equipped with lasers and an old-school Donkey Kong arcade machine. Headquarters has become a come for music lovers who loves house, techno and disco.

Due to the numbers of Covid-19 cases in Singapore has stabilized they are able to reopen bringing new ideas. The second floor called “Upstairs” has been transformed into a social-distanced bar.

On the other hand, the first floor will remain closed and the schedules will from the afternoon till 10:30 PM.

Although the bar opens, live performances and DJs set are still banned as well as dancing. For entering the venue, a mask is mandatory and attendees are only able to take it off when they have to eat or drink.

Moreover, the maximum number of people per group is 5. To ensure a safe environment for everyone, the capacity of the second floor is limited that is why a reservation must be done to access to “Upstairs”.

Elleen Chan, the cofounder of Headquarters explained: “We’re still trying to work with the relevant authorities to explore options as to what we can or are allowed to pivot to”.

The government of Singapore urge the night clubs to transform their business model into a Food and Beverage establishment. This process has been “long and painful”.

According to Elleen Chan: “It’s been heartbreaking seeing the room that once held so many beautiful souls left empty for the past eight to nine months”.

She continued: “It feels nice to finally be able to welcome back all the familiar faces. It’s truly the people that make our space feel like a home”.
