The label launches “In My Hands”, a house music anthem from the Italian Joe Santoro, out exclusively on Traxsource from July 19th.
After many years as a DJ, passionate Joe Santoro is set to start a new chapter of his career with the launch of Ichirougan Records, a new independent electronic music label, based in Barbados, in the Caribbean. Inspired by the desire to narrow the cultural gap between electronic dance music and the more popular indigenous Soca, Reggae, and Hip Hop on the island.
Born in Bari, from an early age, he was musically inclined. With a house music set, he began to move dancefloors around his hometown.
After moving to London at the age of 19 where he saw some of the founding fathers of ‘hard house’ perform, including greats like Carl Cox, Danny Tenaglia, Pete Tong, he returned to Italy where he continued performing and sharing decks with leading Italian and international house and techno artists like Alex Neri, Little Louie Vega or Deep Dish.
Currently, in Barbados, he has started to branch out into the personally untapped area of music production and producing tracks for several labels. Joe Santoro´s songs are built on beats drawn from his travels, combining rhythms in a symbiotic and organic way.
“I play music for supper and make beats for sport.”
He has decided to launch his own label inspired by the ancient name of Barbados, Ichirougan. `In My Hands´ is the first song released by the record label. The song will be out exclusively on Traxsource from July 19th and available on all major streaming platforms from August 2nd, 2021.
