BLUEY’S LATEST EP: “ADVICE”

Bluey, formally known as Ernest J is an Electronic music DJ/Producer from Ghana based in London. His love for electronic sound started from being a renowned club DJ to being one of London’s top producers with six songs out since 2019 to date and a lot more ready for release.

Perfectly balancing the two skill sets, Bluey teams his club-trained ear with his long-time love for producing and the pursuit of the perfect sound. Bluey specializes in House music, drawing inspiration from producers such as Solardo, and DJs such as Franky Nuckles, to put interesting spins on classic styles.

Bluey’s passion for music started at a young age. Securing his first decks at just 14 years old his family had to pry him away for mealtimes and school. A fascination with the DJ EZ ‘Pure Garage’ series spurred him to try to match the technicality of the awe-inspiring selector.

From then on, Bluey started to DJ anywhere he could, family parties, pubs, and club gigs. “In these early stages I would have done it for free, to be honest, I just wanted to build my confidence and ability on the decks.”

BLUEY

Bluey has played some of the most memorable club sets at the biggest venues across the globe including Privilege Ibiza, Ministry Of Sound (London), Ibiza Rocks, and more. He has also worked with underground & commercial house acts such as Beau Lyons, Ellie Cocks, Sammy Porter, Charlo, Artful Dodger, Tough Love, Idris Elba, and more.

Before signing to 7Wallace(record label)-owned by Idris Elba with the song titled “Wine It”, Bluey was spotted by Konvict after handing out DJ mixes on the streets in 2011. He was invited to DJ alongside Akon as a warm-up act playing house music before Akon’s headlining shows. This working relationship flourished through raw talent and the ability to DJ in any genre. Bluey toured with Akon on and off for 7 years.

ADVICE EP

With his last EP called “Advice”, released by Solardo’s independent label “Solanauts“, Bluey showcases two amazing club bangers: Advice and Party Bits.

Advice leans towards a more Techno sound, with darker acid basslines and occasionally bringing that clap that conjures the House groove that everybody enjoys.

The recited acapella completes the job, achieving an introspective track for the deep lovers and a secret weapon for those DJs who find themselves between the Techno and Tech-House genres. A perfect transition for a DJ set.

Party Bits goes straight to the House core with its acapella. The dark vibes from Advice go down instantly as soon as the groovy rhythms from Party Bits emerge to heat the dancefloor.

In 2018 Bluey released an EP with MMR records under his alias ‘Ernest J’. The EP charted number 1 on iTunes and top 10 on Beat Port “Jungle”. He says; “I wanted to test the waters with my sound under Ernest J, but now I’m ready to go deep and consistent with my music releases under Bluey”. He recently earned a slot on the official soundtrack for EA Sports FIFA 22 game with one of his own ‘Wine It’, brandishing him to the much-loved series’ massive audience in the event of the grand release.

Also as a DJ Bluey has headlined sold-out shows like Egg London and displayed his skills at the Ministry of Sound London Invited event.
